Knights-Tidhar Harpsichord Duo

Since 2011, Dan Tidhar and Francis Knights have been performing music for two early keyboard instruments from the Renaissance to the present day, in a series of concerts in Cambridge and elsewhere. Playing on pairs of harpsichords, clavichords, spinets, virginals, fortepianos and chamber organs, they are probably now the world's busiest early keyboard duo.

As well as almost the entire historic repertoire (including music by the Bach family,  Couperin, Krebs, Mattheson, Schaffrath and others) they have performed many new arrangements, and also commissioned works from composers including
Alexander Blustin, Joanna Marsh, Ivan Moody and Kate Waring.

They have recently organized a complete 300th anniversary performance of Duphly (Wolfson College, Cambridge,  November 2015) duphlyanniversary.webnode.com/, an eleven-concert Cambridge Keyboard Festival in 2016, which included individual recitals on harpsichord, clavichord, spinet, virginals, piano, organ, chamber organ, accordion and harmonium cambridgekeyboardfestival2016.webnode.com/, and a Telemann anniversary festival  telemann2017.webnode.com/. Future composer projects include Couperin couperin2018.webnode.com/, Louis Marchand and Beethoven.

Dan also runs an early keyboard hire, tuning and maintenance business at www.cambridge-baroque-labs.com, while Francis undertakes some harpsichord and clavichord restoration and redecoration work www.francisknights.co.uk. Both are very active as instrumental teachers.
